Trim Carpentry FAQ
What is the difference between casing, moulding and baseboard?
Casing is the trim that covers the gap between the door frame and the wall. Moulding is a decorative profile, and baseboard runs along the bottom of the wall.
Does the trim need painting?
Casings and mouldings come prefinished to match the doors, so they do not need painting after installation.
Do you replace baseboards too?
Yes. We fit new baseboards alongside the doors and casings, so each room matches.
Do flush-to-wall doors need trim?
No. Flush-to-wall doors sit level with the wall and need no casing around the opening.
Do you do trim carpentry for contractors?
Yes. We supply and install trim for contractors and developers as well as homeowners, with trade pricing on request.
